Nón lá and Áo dài has always been the pride of Vietnamese people. They are not only the symbol of Vietnamese culture but also demonstrate the softness and elegance of Vietnamese women.

In the past, to help protect themselves from the rain and sun while working in the field, the Vietnamese farmers collected the most rudimentary materials to make a wide-rim hat, which is now known as Nón Lá. The hat can be woven with many different types of leaves, such as palm leaves, straw, elm leaves, lake leaves, and bamboo leaves... To secure and keep the hat from falling, the hat has an extra strap, which is mainly made of velvet fabric, or silk fabric to create a comfortable feeling for the user. Although Nón lá is not an expensive item, it brings a simple and frugal beauty, like the character of Vietnamese people. For farmers, hats are an indispensable item and are used every day to help people shelter from rain and sun.

Alongside the Áo Dài, Nón lá has become a  symbol of Vietnam and its people and a necessity in the everyday life of  Vietnamese farmers.
